In February 2016, a Clay County, Missouri, Jury awarded over half a Million dollars to a Clay County family cheated by a real estate agent. The agent failed to disclose environmental contamination resulting from a pipeline rupture and the release of thousands of gallons of gasoline into the neighborhood in the sale of their dream home.
Following a three day trial the Jury awarded $150,000 in actual damages, $375,000 of punitive damages. Following the three-day jury trial the judge awarded Trial Attorney Thomas K. Mendel $56,315.00 in attorneys' fees at an hourly rate of $350 per hour.
